WASHINGTON DC, THE CAPITAL OF THE UNITED STATES

How are you doing guys? Almost spring break, so I am sure you're waiting for that 

I would like to make some stops in the states of the USA, at least in the ones I have been, so I can tell you things and you can know them. Of course, I hope you can come one day...

Washington DC is the capital of the US, formally the District of Columbia. It has a population around 646. 500. And it is the city where the president of the United States, Barack Obama, lives.

It is located in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the US coast. So It is closer from Spain than Colorado :)

If you visit DC, you must go to the Capitol. It is the meeting place of the US Congress.

The White House, I am sure you know it. The president lives there :)

The National Mall, where you can find the most important museums of the country, Smithsonian, and they are free ;)

 

The Lincoln Memorial. Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States.

I almost forget!!! one of the best cupcakes shops in the country is in DC. You must try the cupcakes, yummy yummy :)

So This is just a little bit of The Capital City of The USA. If you wanna know more about it, you should come and check its beauty on your own.

VALENTINE'S DAY FROM AMERICA

How are you guys? I really miss you all :(
I just wanted to let you know how American children celebrate Valentine's day.
Do you wanna learn something about it?
Let's go with me ;)

Here in America people really enjoy Valentine's day. It is a very special day at school. Every classroom celebrates a party with the teacher. The students bring beautiful and lovely cupcakes and valentines for everyone, including the teacher, which is great ;)

These are the cupcakes moms and kiddos make at home to bring at school.
Are they yummy, right?                                                                                   
Every child designs one of these Valentine's cards to give their friends.
Some of them include also a little candy.

Here you are some cartoons and a perfect song to share with your Valentine.
Remember that you also should share love with all the people who are to your side every day; your family, friends and your teachers.

Top Chef Contest

Hi kids!

How are you? Pupils in 6th year took part in a new contest called Top Chef. They did a good job cooking different kind of dishes such as muffins, cakes, meatballs…

The winners were: 

Ariadna, Nerea and Rocío (6ºA); Andrei and Marlon (6ºB); and Ismael and Yolanda (6ºC).

VUESTROS AMIGOS DE COLORADO

Hola a tod@s!!!!

Hace mucho que no escribo aquí y tenia muchísimas ganas ya :)

He encontrado un muy buen motivo para hacerlo : presentaros mi cole de Colorado y mis alumnos, los cuales están encantados de empezar a formar parte de este blog.

El colegio (Global Village Academy) se encuentra en la ciudad de Aurora en el estado de Colorado, al oeste de Estados Unidos. 

De Colorado dicen que es el estado mas saludable de Estados Unidos, y que sus gentes se caracterizan por su hospitalidad y amabilidad, y puedo dar fe de ello :)

Ademas tiene los picos mas altos de las Rocky Mountains y el hiking o el skiing son uno de sus mayores atractivos. 

Pero dejare de lado este precioso estado para presentaros a los que estoy segura serán vuestros amigos.

Soy la profesora de Spanish en 3er grado y tengo dos grupos diferentes: uno por la manana y otro por la tarde. 

Aquí os dejo una foto de ellos para que les conozcáis y al escribirlos os resulte mas fácil preguntarles todo lo que queráis. 

Como acabáis de recibir unas cartas de ellos, podéis empezar a preguntarles quienes son :) así que no os desvelare el secreto ;)
